Students apply math, science, literacy, and research skills through culturally grounded projects in our unique, geography-specific, ʻāina-based curriculum.

In this course, students conduct research, analyze evidence, write scripts, and produce broadcast-level journalism. Students meet literacy standards, media fluency benchmarks, and public speaking competencies.

Through American Savings Bank for Education, students design business plans, develop financial projections, and present entrepreneurial ideas. They learn financial literacy, budgeting, data analysis, and persuasive communication applying math and economics in authentic ways.

Through Coastal Monitoring and eDNA analysis, students collect water samples, conduct bioinformatics testing, interpret species data, and apply NGSS scientific inquiry practices to real environmental questions affecting their own coastline community.

In Na Kiʻi ʻĀina (Plane Table Mapping), students use traditional surveying techniques to map ancestral and cultural sites. They apply geometry, measurement, spatial reasoning, and geographic analysis while preserving place-based knowledge.

The ʻÕpelu Project connects marine biology, sustainability, and traditional fishing practices of hānai i ke koa (??). Students study population dynamics, food webs, and conservation ethics while engaging in stewardship of their coastal resources.
