About Miloliʻi Charter School

Our Story

For 13 years before the founding of Miloliʻi Charter School, we developed our academic model through Miloliʻi Hīpuʻu Virtual Academy in partnership with Kua O Ka Lā Public Charter School. In 2026, we branched off and founded Miloliʻi Charter School to better combat the academic education desert that was present in the 70 mile region of South Kona where our school calls its home. Up until then, there had been no schools in the entire South Kona district for over 100 years. This lead to students with below state average performance due to the inconsistency in education offerings and services and over capacity of schools in the nearby areas. Miloliʻi Charter School brings a long-overdue solution that provides stability and accessibility to all students in South Kona through our virtually blended multi-site program while maintaining academic rigor.

What Sets Us Apart

Foundational Proficiency

Each student is assessed for their level of proficiency in the core academics of Reading, Math, and Science to provide them learning environments that meet them where they are at and lift them to academic excellence.

Individualized Pathways

Each student receives an individual learning plan designed to help them meet grade level proficiency, followed by a pathway to higher education through our college partnerships or vocational studies with technical schools.

Community Support

Each student receives support from their community to meet their educational goals to stay on track right to graduation.

Modern Learning Tools

Our curriculum features the state of the art use of technologies and learning materials to help students with differing learning styles and needs.
